Skill Level Up!: The Legend of the Black Medallion (Glencoe)—a pirate adventure filled with educational, interactive games and puzzles along with a 21-chapter pirate legend. The program Includes a learning management system for teachers to track student progress and assign topics.

Responsible for all aspects of product design:

​

  • Led client design pitch, review, and approval sessions

  • Wrote a 21-chapter pirate legend carefully crafted to support instruction on over 40 Language Arts skills

  • Designed a clue-based game structure and 18 game templates for interactive learning and engagement

  • Wrote character and game dialog

  • Directed audio-recording sessions

  • Led a team of content writers, instructional designers, and editors

  • Wrote design documentation and scripts

  • Conducted play testing, research, and pilot testing

  • Provided art direction

Skill Level Up! Concept Designs

This set of concept designs was one of four I drew up for our client, Glencoe. Pirate movies were making a big splash in the theaters, helping to make The Legend of the Black Medallion their top choice.
